Civilian Court-Martial Lawyers:
Sexual Assault Charges and Court-Martial Dropped for Senior Field Grade Military Officer Represented by Attorney Richard V. Stevens

Recently, a senior field grade military officer
facing court-martial charges/allegations of sexually assaulting a minor on diverse occasions had the charges and court-martial dropped by the government.  No further disciplinary or adverse action was taken against the officer.  The accused military member was defended by military law attorney Richard V. Stevens (Military Defense Law Offices of Richard V. Stevens, P.C.).

The accused client was served with court-martial charges alleging the sexual assaults and the case proceeded to a pretrial Article 32 hearing.  Prior to the hearing, inconsistencies in the allegations were uncovered and, ultimately, the accusations were recanted.  After the hearing the case was dropped and the officer’s career was not impacted.  The maximum authorized punishment for a court-martial conviction on the allegations in this case would have included more than 30 years in prison and dismissal (dishonorable discharge).

While this military court-martial case was successfully defended, it is important to understand that every case has different facts, and success in previous cases does not guarantee success in any particular future case. No military lawyer or civilian defense lawyer, including those who specialize in military law, can guarantee the outcome of any military trial or case. Administrative Disciplinary Action Dropped for Senior Field Grade Military Officer Represented by Attorney Richard V. Stevens

Recently, a senior field grade military officer represented by military law attorney Richard V. Stevens (Military Defense Law Offices of Richard V. Stevens, P.C.) had the administrative disciplinary action the officer was facing rescinded/dropped based on the response submitted on the client’s behalf.

Due to the nature of the administrative disciplinary action, no further details about the action can be provided.  However, the rebuttal submitted on the client’s behalf convinced the command that the disciplinary action should be dropped and the officer’s career progression will not be impacted.

While this military adverse action was successfully defended, it is important to understand that every case has different facts, and success in previous cases does not guarantee success in any particular future case. No military lawyer or civilian defense lawyer, including those who specialize in military law, can guarantee the outcome of any military trial or case.
